Why Vista is a hog, IDK.
SpeedStep is a program Intel CPU’s use for downclocking the processor in idle/low use situations. It’s designed for reduced power use. As far as I know, most mobile Intel CPU’s can use it.

I put mine on “High Performance” for AC-Plug in.
“Power Save or Balanced” for Battery which lasts for 3-5 hours.
Do you have any idea why Vista is a hog? cause i want know.
btw! what is SpeedStep? is it for Acer only?

Well, not only is it faster booting, but it’s actually faster while in user mode. The battery life is also a lot better (Balanced setting, SpeedStep enabled).
